The announcement comes a day after Twitter deleted a controversial post by Mr Gandhi with a photo of him meeting the family of a nine-year-old Dalit girl who died in the nation's capital, allegedly following a mass murder. sexual assault. A notice from Twitter said the tweet violated its rules.

The National Committee for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (NCPCR) on Wednesday called on Delhi police and Twitter to take action against Mr Gandhi's posting of the little girl's family photo on the microblogging site, claiming that it violates the Protection of Children Against Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO). 


Mr Gandhi met with members of the girl's family on Wednesday and assured them that he would accompany them on the path to justice and "not back down an inch."
