Parliament Session / Uproar in Rajya Sabha over Charan Singh, Jayant Choudhary said - no deal with BJP, no trust

Parliament Session: The Central Government has announced to give Bharat Ratna (posthumously) to PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh and MS Swaminathan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shared the information about giving the country's highest civilian honor to the three personalities along with their photographs on social media, after which politics has heated up. Although all the political parties welcomed this step of the Modi government, yet a heated debate was seen on this issue in the Rajya Sabha today.

There was a lot of uproar in Rajya Sabha regarding Chaudhary Charan Singh. RLD Chief and Rajya Sabha MP Jayant Chaudhary was speaking about the award of Bharat Ratna to his grandfather Charan Singh. On his statement, Congress President Mallikarjun Khajge accused him. Meanwhile, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar also expressed displeasure over the comments of Congress leaders Pramod Tiwari and Jairam Ramesh.

Uproar in Rajya Sabha

Today, there was a lot of uproar in the Rajya Sabha when RLD Chief Jayant Chaudhary was speaking about giving Bharat Ratna to his grandfather Chaudhary Charan Singh. Jayant was sitting in the House today with the ruling party and he said that I was in the opposition for ten years and now I am with the ruling party for some time. Praising BJP, he said that Chaudhary Saheb's imprint is visible in the functioning of this government. There should be no politics in honoring a great personality. Modi government has done a great job. Jayant further said that I am indebted to the respect given by a grassroots government.

After the uproar, Jayant Chaudhary said that whatever Congress did today will only harm them. If someone wants to say something about Choudhary Saheb, he will be stopped and the village people and farmers will definitely get hurt. Congress had a lot of opportunities but why did they not give respect to Chaudhary Saheb first. As far as the deal with BJP is concerned, it is not a deal but a matter of trust.

Jayant was speaking in the Rajya Sabha when Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge raised the question under which rule he was allowed to speak. Kharge said that although we salute those who have been given Bharat Ratna. At the same time, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari even said that if Jayant Chaudhary joins NDA now, it will prove that Bharat Ratna has been bargained for and he should not be made a part of NDA at all. Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge made serious allegations of bias against the Chairman and said that Jayant was given a chance to speak arbitrarily without any rules.

Meanwhile, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankad expressed displeasure over the comments of Congress leaders Pramod Tiwari and Jairam Ramesh. Dhankad reprimanded and said that I cannot tolerate the insult of farmers and the farming class. I come from the farmer class, it does not mean that I am a weak Chairman. The Chairman further said that we will not tolerate the insult of Chaudhary Charan Singh. According to Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, Jairam Ramesh made objectionable sarcasm on Jayant Chaudhary.
