Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is on a visit to India after a long time, reached his office in South Block of Delhi on Friday morning to meet National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Today, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will also meet. There can be a direct discussion between China and Indian officials regarding the ongoing standoff between the armies of the two countries on the Line of Actual Control (lLAC) in Ladakh.

So far, 15 military commander-level talks have been held in the Ladakh case, but there is a deadlock in many areas. In the last two years, due to the Corona epidemic, no Chinese leader had visited India. During this time, tension had also increased over the Ladakh standoff. Violent clashes also took place between the armies of the two countries in the Galwan Valley. This was the first such conflict between India and China after the 1962 war.

Request to raise the issue of Tibet

Meanwhile, Tibet's MP-in-exile Thubten Gyatso has requested the Indian government to raise the issue of Tibet in a meeting with the Chinese Foreign Minister. He said that he should also request that the Chinese government start talks with the Dalai Lama and end the repressive policy in Tibet.
