Weather Update | Two people have died due to heavy rains in the capital of Karnataka. It is reported that due to the activities related to Southwest Monsoon, the rain and thundershowers have thrown life out of gear. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rain in the next 4-5 days. Also, an orange alert has been issued in many urban and rural areas of Bengaluru.

According to media reports, the bad weather took the lives of two people. Both used to work as laborers in Ullal suburb. It is reported that one of them was from Uttar Pradesh and one from Bihar. The bodies of both were found in the pipeline.

Talking to NDTV, the police officer said, 'The deceased have been identified as Dev Bharat of Bihar and Ankit Kumar of Uttar Pradesh. Last evening there was heavy rain and workers were at the site. The water level rose around 7 pm. We are here assessing the security measures. It is being said in the reports that the city has received more than 155 mm of rain.

Several videos surfaced of low-lying areas, where people are knee-deep in water. It is reported that many other areas including JP Nagar, Jayanagar, Lalbagh, Chikpat, Majestic, Malleswaram, Rajajinagar, Yeshwantpur, MG Road, Cuban Park, Vijay Nagar, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Magadi Road and Mysore Road have been affected.

According to news agency ANI, IMD has predicted more rain in the coastal and south interior areas. The southern interior parts of the country include Bengaluru, Madikeri, Chikmagalur, Wayanad, Kovalam and many other cities in South India.
