Lok Sabha Election: A big meeting of opposition unity was held in Bengaluru regarding the Lok Sabha elections. A total of 26 parties have appeared united in this meeting. During this, the opposition parties named their alliance as 'INDIA'. It is made up of five words which have different political meanings. It reflects the entire political agenda and narrative of the opposition. The opposition has not only named its alliance as India U, but a well thought out strategy and political agenda is also hidden behind it.

Every name has its own politics in Indian politics. These days the politics of name is also dominating a lot. There is also a trend of deriving different meanings from English words. Bharatiya Janata Party has been making political attacks by mentioning the names of all the parties associated with the opposition and extracting their meaning. In such a situation, the opposition has played a big political bet by naming its alliance as India. According to political analysts, the biggest advantage of the name India to the opposition would be that the BJP would neither be able to taunt nor ridicule it.

Five words in the name I-N-D-I-A

  • I – India
  • N – National
  • D- Development
  • I – inclusive
  • A – Alliance
I-India

The opposition has kept the first word India in the name of its alliance. The opposition parties have given this name after a lot of thought. This word itself is giving a political message. The opposition has named its alliance after the country, so it will be a big challenge for the BJP to attack. If some wrong meaning is taken out of the name of India, then some wrong message will go among the public and BJP will never do this because it calls itself a nationalist.

N-National

The opposition has also added National to its name. Which means nationality, love of country, dedication and emotion. It means working in the interest of the country and countrymen. It has often been seen in the politics of India that the BJP keeps on giving the definition of nationalism, but now the opposition parties have worked to surround the ruling party with the same national word.

D-Developmental

Development means development. That development which is in the interest of the countrymen socially, economically and politically. Such development, which is dependent on social and economic development, which will benefit the people of the country, has to be implemented. On the other hand, the present situation has been that the BJP has been telling the opposition to be anti-development.

I-inclusive

The inclusion of inclusive in its name by the opposition unity simply means taking everyone along. Means, keeping an inclusive ideology, all the people of the society, caste, religion and region of the country have to walk together and take everyone along. The opposition has also mentioned the same thing in its resolution letter. In the manifesto, emphasis was laid on political, economic and social justice ranging from caste-based mobilisation.

A- Alliance

It simply means alliance. Opposition parties say that they have come up with a coalition which includes many political parties from east to west and north to south. There have also been some parties in this which were once staunchly opposed to the Congress, but today have appeared on one platform.

NDA vs INDIA

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, on the one hand, the opposition has held a meeting in Bengaluru and named its alliance as India, while the BJP has also made an effort to give a big political message by including 38 parties in its clan. If the BJP wants to make a hat-trick of power with the help of small parties, then the opposition is trying to stop the path of PM Modi in 2024 in collaboration with parties of all ideologies. In this way, now the ruling and the opposition have started setting political agenda from political alliance. In such a situation, it has to be seen who prevails over whom in the political battle of 2024 between NDA vs India.
