Kapil Raj currently heads the Ranchi zone of the Enforcement Directorate. He is an IRS officer of 2009 batch. Kapil Raj became the Additional Director of ED in the month of September 2023. According to the information, his tenure in Jharkhand is till December 2024. He has also been posted in West Bengal earlier.

Under his supervision, many high-profile cases including illegal mining scam, land scam and MLA cash scam are being investigated in Jharkhand. Recently Kapil Raj was given 1 year deputation by the Ministry of Finance Department of Revenue ED Section.

Hemant Soren had filed FIR

Kapil Raj was also involved in the arrest of the then Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. Hemant Soren had filed a complaint against ED Additional Director Kapil Raj, Assistant Director Devvrat Jha, Anupam Kumar and others at Ranchi's ST-SC police station against the raid at his Delhi residence.

Will appear in Rouse Avenue Court

After the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, ED will present him in Rouse Avenue Court today. ED had taken Arvind Kejriwal straight from his residence to his office. During this time, checkpoints were put up at various places on the way, so that the convoy did not have to stop anywhere. All the roads leading to the ED office have been cordoned off.
