PM Modi France Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to France, where he will attend the Bastille Day Parade to be held on July 14 as the chief guest. Along with this, PM will take part in many important meetings and talks. There is a long history of cultural exchange between the two countries. India is an emerging technology power and France is a major producer. When India had tested nuclear bomb in 1998, at that time all western countries had imposed many sanctions on India, but France was the only country which supported India at that time and did not impose any sanctions. It has been 25 years of this strategic partnership between the two countries and PM Modi is present in France. Here PM will participate in many events.

PM Modi will be in France on a two-day tour and he will be in UAE for one day. He wrote a blog before going on a tour of France, in which he said that this tour is going to be very special, as he will be a part of the French National Day with President Emmanuel Macron.

PM Modi Chief Guest on Bastille Day

The way Republic Day is celebrated in India on 26th January and there is a parade on the duty path (earlier Rajpath), a similar view is seen in France on 14th July. On very rare occasions, the Prime Minister and President of another country are called as Chief Guest on the Bastille Day Parade. The last time France invited US President Donald Trump as the chief guest in 2017. After 6 years, PM or President of any country has been called on Bastille Day Parade.

Why is Bastille Day celebrated?

The French Revolution started 200 years ago. It is celebrated in the memory of the attack on the Bastille prison on 14 July 1789. On this day the monarchy was overthrown in France and a democratic government was established. This time a 269-member Indian contingent of the tri-services will participate in the French parade. Along with this, 3 jets of the Rafale aircraft that India has bought from France will be included in this parade.

Why is india so important

It is true that France has always supported India in times of crisis, but the bigger thing is India's fast growing economy. France wants to sell more and more weapons to India. It is being told that PM Modi bought about 26 Rafale for the Navy on this tour, which will be deployed on INS Vikrant. Along with this, India will also buy 3 Scorpene class submarines from France. France and MDL have jointly built 6 Scorpene class submarines, its technology is from France and out of this 5 submarines have been included inside the Navy, the remaining one will also be handed over to the Navy soon.

France will manufacture 110 kilo Newton engine in India

Along with this, a deal will also be done with Safran, a company that manufactures engines for aircraft in France. It is being told that France will transfer technology in this deal and 110 kilo Newton engine will be manufactured inside India. The engine installed inside the Rafale aircraft is of about 70-75 kilo newtons. After this deal, India and France together will make an even more powerful engine. Along with this, a roadmap will be prepared for defense industrial cooperation.

There is good chemistry between PM Modi and Emmanuel Macron

Very good chemistry is also seen between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron. PM Modi has also been invited to the world's largest Louvre Museum and around 200 guests, and leaders of all parties in France will attend. Apart from this, businessmen of both the countries will also be present, who will hold talks regarding trade and economy. On the other hand, during PM Modi's visit, talks will be held between the two countries on Civil Nuclear, Space, Cyber Security Technology, Counter Terrorism, Climate Change, Renewable Energy and International Solar Alliance.
