As soon as it was released on December 12, this song came to the notice of Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra. He did not like the color combination of Deepika Padukone and Besharam, who is seen wearing a saffron colored bikini in the video of this song.

Home Minister Mishra was the first to raise this issue and the saffron bikini controversy started. He also said that Deepika Padukone is a supporter of JNU's Tukde-Tukde gang.

Warning the filmmakers, Mishra said that the song scenes and costumes should be fixed, otherwise whether the film should be allowed to be shown in Madhya Pradesh or not would be a matter of consideration. Minister Narottam Mishra has put a question mark on Shah Rukh Khan going for Vaishno Devi Darshan. On December 14, he told reporters that Shah Rukh Khan visits Mata Rani and brings women in bikini there.
