Congress Working Committee: Just before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has announced his team. The Congress has reconstituted the Congress Working Committee (CWC), which is considered to be high profile. The CWC consists of 39 members, 32 permanent invitees and 13 special invitees. Kharge has issued a list of 84 members of the CWC, in which only 5 Muslim leaders have got a place. The CWC team has four members and one permanent invitee.

In the 39 members who have been included in the Congress Working Committee, Tariq Anwar, Salman Khurshid, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Syed Nasir Hussain have been given place as Muslim faces. Apart from this, Tariq Hameed Karra has been kept as a permanent invitee member of CWC. Significantly, Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen in the country, is openly doing Muslim politics. Along with BJP, Owaisi is also putting Congress in the dock on the Muslim issue. Because of this, the biggest political danger is being faced by the Muslim politics of the Congress. In such a situation, the question arises that will Congress be able to counter Owaisi's Muslim politics through Tariq Anwar and Salman Khurshid?

Tariq Anwar, who made a place in the CWC as a Muslim face, comes from Bihar. Making an issue of Sonia Gandhi's foreign origin, she broke ties with the Congress, but returned to the Congress before 2019. Tariq Anwar, who has five decades of political experience, has never been identified as a Muslim leader. However, Tariq Anwar is the leader of the Muslim organization All India Qaumi Tanjim, but could not gain influence among the Muslim community.

Salman Khurshid does not fit in the mold of Muslim politics

Salman Khurshid has got a place in the Congress Working Committee, with whom the political legacy of two generations is associated. Salman Khurshid may have been included as a Muslim face, but he has never been able to fit into the mold of Muslim politics. In this way the grip among the Muslims is not in the way that the political Muslim community likes. Salman Khurshid comes from UP, where all the organizations associated with Muslims have their head offices. Even after this, he has not been able to make a hold on Muslim votes.

These leaders have no identity outside their states

Syed Nasir Hussain, who comes from Karnataka and is close to Mallikarjun Kharge, as well as the Gandhi family, has got a place in the Congress Working Committee as a Muslim face. Nasir Hussain has confined himself to the politics of the South, has not been able to make his place and identity in the Muslim politics of North India. In this way, Ghulam Ahmed Mir and Tariq Hameed Karra, coming from Jammu and Kashmir, have got a place. The identity of both these leaders is not known outside Kashmir. In such a situation, how will Muslims fit into the politics, because in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Muslim politics is of a different type.

Owaisi doing Muslim politics aggressively

Muslim voters in the country have been the traditional vote bank of the Congress for a long time, but after the Ram Mandir movement, Muslim voters in states like UP, Bihar, Delhi, Bengal have drifted away from the Congress and gone with regional parties. Since 2014, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has been doing Muslim politics aggressively. Owaisi speaks openly on issues related to Muslims and in comparison to him Congress or other parties called secular are not able to speak. Owaisi raises issues related to the Muslim community. Challenging the leaders of AIMIM, they say that apart from Asaduddin Owaisi, tell me another Muslim leader in the country, who is raising the issue with Muslims from the road to the Parliament. The way Owaisi is strongly and fiercely raising the issues of Muslims. Asaduddin Owaisi often raises issues related to the Muslim community in Parliament. Be it the issue of triple talaq, verdict on Babri Masjid, lynching, love jihad or the issue of CAA and NRC, he speaks openly and gives better arguments than other leaders.

AIMIM emerged as a party of Muslims in the country

The Muslim community is also liking Owaisi's frank speaking on issues related to Muslims, for which he is also getting political benefits. In 2019, one to two MPs became his. If Owaisi himself won from Hyderabad, Imtiaz Jaleel was elected from Aurangabad in Maharashtra. Seven MLAs of Owaisi in Telangana, two MLAs in Maharashtra, five MLAs in Bihar were successful in winning the 2020 elections. Even in UP's civic elections, he won a municipality like Sambhal and came second on the mayor's seat in Meerut. In this way Owaisi's AIMIM is emerging as a party of Muslims in the country.

Increasing heartbeat of parties like Congress, SP, RJD

Due to the increasing popularity of Owaisi among Muslims, the biggest challenge is for parties like Congress, SP, RJD. The more the Muslims will be inclined towards Owaisi, the more tension will be there for these parties. This is the reason that from Congress to SP, RJD and TMC have been accusing Owaisi of calling them B-Team of BJP, in response to which Owaisi says that all these so-called secular parties want to take the votes of Muslims, but they do not Neither give representation nor raise their issues. BJP, Congress are all in the same plate. Use Muslims during elections and then forget them. To counter the growing political influence of Asaduddin Owaisi among the Muslims, among the Muslim leaders whom the Congress has given a place in its most powerful committee, there is not a single Muslim leader who can speak on issues related to Muslims like Owaisi. Could From Tariq Anwar to Salman Khurshid and Syed Nasir Hussain, they are neither able to speak for Muslims in a fearless manner like Owaisi nor raise their issues. In such a situation, how will Congress be able to weaken Asaduddin Owaisi's increasing hold among Muslims?
