Jodhpur witnessed a tragic incident where a married woman died under suspicious circumstances just three years after her wedding. Khushboo, 32, passed away on Friday morning after four days of treatment at Mathuradas Mathur Hospital. Her brother, Indrajit Rajpurohit, has leveled serious allegations against her in-laws, claiming they poisoned her after relentlessly taunting her for bringing less dowry and being unable to conceive.
Family Demands Justice, Refuses Body
Following Khushboo's death, her distraught family is adamant about securing justice. They're demanding the immediate arrest of the accused and have refused to accept her body until their demands are met. Indrajit stated, "Those who caused my sister's death must face the strictest punishment so that her soul can rest in peace. " The incident involves families from Pilowani village in Pali district and Jodhpur.
Married in May 2022
Indrajit Rajpurohit revealed that Khushboo married Harshit Singh of Pilowani village, Pali, in May 2022. Harshit's family resides in Jodhpur, and he runs a solar business in Jaipur. Initially, things seemed fine, but soon after, Khushboo's in-laws allegedly began taunting her for not bringing a car as dowry, and later, for being barren. These constant taunts took a severe toll on Khushboo, leaving her mentally and physically shattered.
Abuse Led to Her Return Home
Overwhelmed by the harassment, Khushboo had been living at her paternal home in Pali since July 2025. On October 16, 2025, her in-laws visited Pali and promised before family and community members that she would face no further issues. Convinced, the family sent Khushboo back with them before Diwali. However, on October 21, at 12:30 PM, Indrajit received a call from the in-laws stating Khushboo had consumed something and her health had deteriorated, while it's alleged that her in-laws only brought her to the hospital after she lost consciousness. Khushboo, who held an MA degree and dreamed of becoming a teacher, succumbed to. Her illness on Friday morning, her dreams shattered by the alleged abuse and depression.
