92 percent of small entrepreneurs said the platform helped in reaching new people around the world

In a report released on Thursday by Oxford Economics, it has been said that YouTube creators (video creators on YouTube) have contributed Rs 6,800 crore to the Indian economy in 2020 by creating videos. The special thing is that YouTubers have strengthened GDP equal to 6,83,900 full time jobs. 92 percent of small and medium entrepreneurs say that YouTube has helped them reach new people around the world.

The country's YouTubers have the potential to emerge as a vital force influencing economic growth, job creation and cultural values. As our YouTubers build this next generation of media companies that connect with global audiences, the impact on the economy will be even stronger.

Earning in lakhs

According to the report, more than 40,000 YouTube channels have more than one lakh subscribers. Their number is increasing at the rate of 45% every year. The number of YouTube channels earning at least six digits or more in the country is growing by 60 per cent year-on-year.

448 million youtube users in the country

According to last year's figures, the number of users of YouTube in the country is 448 million. 53 crore people use WhatsApp and 41 crore people use Facebook. The number of Instagram users is 210 million, while 17.5 million use Twitter.

Helpful to grow business

Adrian Cooper, CEO, Oxford Economics, said that YouTube is playing a vital role for Indian producers in helping them achieve their professional goals and grow their business. With eight different ways to monetize content on YouTube, YouTube has emerged as an inspirational source for creators around the world. More than 80 percent of creators in India say that the YouTube platform has had a positive impact on their professional goals.
