Pakistan Cricket Board: There has been a lot of upheaval in the Pakistan Cricket Board within the last one year. Since the T20 World Cup 2022 in October-November, after the departure of Rameez Raja, no permanent PCB chairman has been appointed. A PCB Management Committee was formed to manage the PCB, with Najam Sethi elected as its chairman. Now Sethi has also stepped down from this post and Zaka Ashraf, who is said to be close to Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, has taken over the post of chairman of this committee for the next four months. It is often seen inside the Pakistan Cricket Board that when there is a change of power, there is a change in other positions below.

Zaka Ashraf offered a big post to this veteran

The same has been seen again. Najam Sethi has gone and Zaka Ashraf has come, so there is talk of a change in the post of Chief Selector as well. Ashraf himself tweeted on Friday and said that he has offered the post of chief selector to former cricketer Mohammad Hafeez, but he is still waiting for Hafeez's reply. Presently, Haroon Rasheed is occupying this post. In the coming time, the team has to play big tournaments like Asia Cup and ODI World Cup. In such a situation, if Hafeez comes, then a new planning can be seen in Pakistan's team selection. Earlier, at the beginning of Najam Sethi becoming the president, Shahid Afridi was also made the interim selector.

How was Mohammad Hafeez's international career?

Mohammad Hafeez made his international debut for Pakistan in the year 2003 and in the year 2021 he took retirement from all formats of cricket. Hafeez has played 55 Tests, 218 ODIs and 119 T20 Internationals for Pakistan in these 18 years. His name is included in the star all-rounders of Pakistan. He has 3652 runs and 53 wickets in Tests. And in ODIs, he scored 6614 runs and took 139 wickets. Apart from this, Hafeez scored 2514 runs in T20 International and also took 61 wickets in his name. Now it has to be seen whether he accepts this offer of Zaka Ashraf or not.
