Dholpur / 2 men killed in police encounter with sand mafia in Rajasthan

An encounter between the gravel mafia and the police in Rajasthan's Dholpur district has resulted in the death of two people.

Seven people, including two police constable, also got injured in the encounter that took place on Friday.

The situation in Rajasthan's Dholpur district became tense after the encounter. A huge crowd had gathered at the local hospital after the encounter and given the tension, there was heavy police deployment. Bharatpur range IG also reached the location.

Lakshman Singh Gaur, IG, Bharatpur range mentioned, "Information about illegal transportation of sand was received by Basai Dang station police. The station police, along with the team, tried to stop the gravel mafia."

He added that additional enforcement had also been summoned from the district headquarter to stop the gravel mafia where the police met the mafia indulging in the transportation of sand.

"Two people, part of the mafia, involved in illegal transportation of sand, have died. On the other hand, five people are injured," Gaur said.

According to him, three people are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. On the other hand, one constable told the police team has been hit by a bullet while another police personnel has also sustained injury in the foot.

The entire incident is being investigated by the police. Whatever will be the right decision after the investigation that will be taken."
