New Delhi : Intermittent rains have thrown life out of gear in Gurugram for the third consecutive day. Due to heavy rains, people are facing many problems due to waterlogging and traffic jams in many parts.
A cab got stuck in water due to waterlogging on the service road near Narsinghpur in Gurugram on Saturday. The cab got stuck there after getting filled with water for about three feet and the cab started floating like a boat in the water. During this, the passenger sitting inside the cab sat on the roof of the cab for a long time.Traffic police issued advisoryMeanwhile, Gurugram Traffic Police on Saturday issued an advisory regarding diversion and congestion due to waterlogging in many parts due to rain in Gurugram. Traffic police personnel and teams of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority have been pressed into action to manage the traffic and drain the water."Commuters traveling from Delhi/Gurugram to Manesar, Rewari and Jaipur on NH8 are requested to follow alternate routes like Golf Course Extension, Vatika Chowk and SPR," Gurugram Traffic Police said in its advisory on Twitter.“Similarly, commuters within the city can follow the Rajiv Chowk to Vatika Chowk and SPR route. This way will be free from water logging and they will be able to avoid slowdown of traffic on Narsinghpur water overflow/logging on highway and service lane The traffic police will be there to make your journey easy and smooth."Several vehicles were submerged at various places as it started raining on Saturday morning. More than 50 areas have been affected by waterlogging including Sector-15 Part 2, New Colony, Sector 7, Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension, Delhi-Gurugram Expressway to Kherki Daula, Sector 10, Village Khandsa and Manesar.A senior traffic official said the situation was under control on the main road, but due to heavy waterlogging near Manesar, traffic was slow.
