Agnipath Protest Railway Damage: After the announcement of the Agnipath scheme launched by the Center for recruitment in the army, youth protests are going on in many states of the country. History is witness whenever people have protested of any kind. Railway is also one of these public properties. The railway has been a victim of the anger of the protesters continuously. Due to the protest demonstration, the railways of the country has suffered a freight loss of about 5000 crores in the last 6 years.

4736 crore loss in last 6 years

The Railway Ministry had told the House that the railways have to pay a heavy price for the performance on the railway platform and track. In the last 6 years, Railways has suffered a loss of 4736 crores only in freight. If the passenger fare is also included with the loss of railway properties, then this figure will be much higher. In the last few years, damaging railways has also become a dangerous trend. In the 3 years between 2015-16 to 2017-18, a total freight loss of 1846 crores was done. At the same time, in the three years from 2018-19 to 2020-21, it has increased by one and a half times to reach 2890 crores.

Loss of more than 500 crores

According to sources, due to the ongoing protests against Agneepath, only the Railways has suffered a loss of more than 500 crores. Due to the arson, the Railways has lost about 100 coaches across the country. The estimated cost of a coach is around 2 crores. That is, railway coaches worth about 200 crores have been destroyed. Apart from this, 7 locomotives of railways have also been burnt. The cost of each engine is around 15 crores. So far, in total, engines worth Rs 105 crore have also been burnt. A loss of about 200 crores is being estimated to the rail track and railway station. However, in this loss, the loss of passenger fare and freight due to the cancellation of the train to the Railways is yet to be estimated.

Till now more than 500 trains canceled

On Saturday, the Railways decided to cancel 369 trains. Due to which the passengers had to face a lot of trouble. Earlier on Friday also, more than 200 trains had to be cancelled. The movement against 'Agneepath' has also spread to southern states including Karnataka and Kerala.
