Meanwhile, before the elections, many Congress leaders are either leaving the party or are reluctant to contest the elections. Now Congress has suffered another setback in Gujarat. Party's candidate from Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha seat, Rohan Gupta has withdrawn his name.

Congress leader Rohan Gupta has given information on social media regarding withdrawal of name from Ahmedabad East seat. He told- Due to serious medical condition, my father is admitted in the hospital and I am withdrawing my candidature from Ahmedabad East Parliament seat as Congress candidate. I will give full support to the new candidate nominated by the party.

When are the elections in Gujarat?

The Election Commission said that the Lok Sabha elections will be held in seven phases. The first phase of voting will take place on April 19. The second phase of voting will be held on April 26. The third phase of voting will take place on May 7. The fourth phase of voting will take place on May 13. The fifth phase of voting will be held on May 20. The sixth phase of voting will take place on May 25. The seventh phase of voting will take place on June 1. Voting will be held in Gujarat on 7th May. Voting will take place in the third phase in Gujarat. Elections will be held simultaneously for all 26 seats. Counting of votes will take place on June 4.

Bad news for Congress in Himachal too

Veteran Congress leader in Himachal Pradesh Pratibha Singh also does not want to contest the Lok Sabha elections. According to sources, Congress wants him to contest elections from Mandi in Himachal. However, now news has come that Pratibha Singh does not want to contest the Lok Sabha elections and she has informed the leadership about this.
