The Assam government has bulldozed another private madrassa on Wednesday. This madrassa in Bangaigaon was demolished because of its links with al-Qaeda. Earlier, the Assam government had demolished two madrasas. Police say that the madrasa was the center of terrorist activities. It was a two-storey madrassa in Kabitari village of the district which was demolished.

Eight bulldozers were used by the district administration to demolish the madrassa. Last Friday, the police had arrested Mutti Hafeezur Rehman, a teacher of the same madrassa. It is alleged that he had links to al-Qaeda.

On Tuesday, the police raided the madrasa. The police had found many objectionable literature and items from there. Mufti Hafeezur Rehman was associated with the madrasa as a teacher in 2018. On Tuesday, the District Disaster Authority had ordered the demolition of the madrasa. It was said that there is a need for strong infrastructure to run multiple activities in the same campus. This building can become the cause of any accident.

About 200 students were studying in this madrasa who were thrown out before the action.
