New Delhi : The Narendra Modi government at the Center is closely monitoring the growing incidents of Sikh fundamentalism, attacks on temples and vandalism of Hindu symbols in the UK and Canada. It is also considering sending a message to both the countries soon regarding this. India has expressed strong protest over the violence against the Indian community in Leicester. A protest has been lodged with the UK authorities regarding this. The government has also taken note of how British security agencies have been ignoring fundraising by Sikh fundamentalists to promote separatism.

The Modi government has decided to respond to these anti-India incidents in both the countries. External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval have taken cognizance of the incidents in both the countries.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has strongly condemned Russia's "referendum" on the territories occupied by Ukraine. But, he has turned a blind eye to the so-called referendums organized by the banned "Sikhs for Justice" organization in Brampton and Ontario on 19 September. The Narendra Modi government has sent three diplomatic messages to Global Affairs Canada. Trudeau has asked the government to stop the illegal referendum.

The Trudeau government responded to the Modi government on 16 September, saying Canada respects India's territorial integrity and sovereignty and does not recognize this so-called referendum. Unlike in the case of Ukraine, there was no condemnation by PM Trudeau for the referendum organized by radical Sikhs. In its response, the Trudeau government said that individuals in Canada have the right to assemble and express their views.

Canada's response also said that they were distressed by the recent vandalism at the Swaminarayan Temple in Brampton, Ontario. All information has been shared with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

Let us tell you that Sikh fundamentalist movements are funded in both these countries. Canada is also considered to be the center of gangsters of Punjab. India has made it clear not only to Britain, Canada but also to the US that not taking action against anti-India Sikh fundamentalists is tantamount to collusion.
