Delhi Pollution Level: Regarding the increasing pollution in Delhi, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on Wednesday that we will take a decision on odd even only after reading the Supreme Court order completely. He said that we will give an affidavit in the Supreme Court regarding the implementation of odd-even in Delhi between 13th and 20th November. Only after this we will take a decision on implementing odd-even. Along with this, he said that app based taxis coming from other states have been banned in Delhi.

Gopal Rai said that tomorrow, UP, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and the Center had to submit their report regarding the pollution situation in the Supreme Court. The court issued several orders related to pollution control. After studying the order, we held a meeting with the concerned ministers and officials to implement it and issued several instructions.

I thank the Supreme Court for the order to restart the smog tower which was shut down by the DPCC Chairman following the instructions of the Supreme Court and the decision of the Delhi Cabinet, and to restart the real time study. I do. He said that I was continuously appealing to the Center that there should be joint work. In Delhi, we are continuously implementing the rules of GRAP. But the way our neighboring governments are sitting silently. I think that after the order of the Supreme Court, now meetings will be held and rules will be implemented.

Decision on odd even only after reading SC order

Gopal Rai said that the Supreme Court has heard in detail on pollution on Tuesday. We have studied the court order. Today we have held a meeting with the concerned departments and ministers, in which many decisions have been taken. The Supreme Court directed to open the smog tower which was closed by the DPCC Chairman. Along with this, instructions were also given to start real time study. For this I want to thank the Supreme Court.

Ban on firecrackers in Delhi, other states should also do so

Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that I have been continuously demanding that firecrackers be banned in the states around us. BJP wants to control pollution only by making statements. I think the Supreme Court order regarding ban on firecrackers will have an impact. At this time it is not known that the Union Environment Ministry is also in the country. The Supreme Court had ordered the NCR states to put stickers on vehicles with different fuels. The court said that Delhi is the only state which has done this.

What else did Gopal Rai say?

  • The incidents of stubble burning have reduced in Punjab. Information was also given by Punjab in the Supreme Court. For subsidy for the machines, the court also said that the Center should contribute 50 percent in it. The court has given the responsibility to the SHO to control the stubble.
