BBC documentary on PM Modi: Ruckus is increasing on the controversial documentary of BBC. After JNU, the situation got out of control in Jamia Millia Islamia also regarding the screening of this documentary. A screening of the controversial BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi was planned at Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia University this evening. After knowing about which the administration suspended the class of the university. In the case, the police have also detained three members of the Left Students' Union.

Let us tell you that on Tuesday, while issuing the order, Jamia officials had said that they will not allow any unauthorized gathering in the campus. The order by the Jamia authorities came after the Students' Federation of India announced a screening of the BBC documentary on Facebook. Seeing the ruckus of the students in protest against this, the police van with riot control vehicle and tear gas cannon reached the college gate.

The BBC documentary depicts Prime Minister Narendra Modi's tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat during the 2002 riots. The government has asked social media companies to ban this documentary and remove its links. The opposition called this move blatant censorship.

Earlier on Tuesday evening some students had organized a similar screening at Jawaharlal Nehru University. After which internet and electricity connection was disconnected. Hundreds of people crowded outside in the dark to watch the documentary on phone screens or their laptops. Not only this, the students also took out a protest march in the evening. JNU officials had warned of disciplinary action if the documentary was shown. Intazamia had said that this step could disturb the peace and harmony in the campus.

PM Modi's government has termed the two-part documentary series 'India: The Modi Question' as a 'propaganda piece'. He has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the Gujarat riots investigation. Last year, the Supreme Court rejected an appeal against his release in a case related to the murders.

In 2002, over 1,000 people were killed in three days of violence in Gujarat. A coach of a train carrying pilgrims was burnt in Godhra. 59 people had lost their lives in this arson. After which there were serious allegations of not taking adequate steps by the police to stop the riots that started.
