With 142 assembly seats going to the polls in this phase, political parties have deployed their full strength to woo voters before the campaign noise settles this evening. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stationed its top star campaigners on the ground, maintaining a singular focus on challenging the Mamata Banerjee administration.

CM Yogi Adityanath's Intensive Campaign Schedule

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to participate in four major electoral programs today, spanning from morning to evening. His itinerary includes a mix of roadshows and public meetings across various constituencies. The Chief Minister will begin his day at 11:50 AM with a roadshow in the Kalyani assembly constituency of North 24 Parganas. Following this, at 2:05 PM, he will address a public rally in Dhanekhali, Hooghly. PM Modi's Mega Roadshow and Mamata's Local Outreach

The final push follows a massive mega roadshow by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kolkata yesterday. Prior to the roadshow, PM Modi visited the historic Thanthania Kali Temple in North Kolkata to offer prayers. Simultaneously, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was seen engaging in grassroots campaigning, visiting a local vegetable market in her assembly constituency of Bhabanipur to interact with citizens and vendors.

BJP's Aggressive Stance and Leadership Statements

BJP leaders have Notably escalated their rhetoric against the TMC government during this final leg of campaigning. During a roadshow in North 24 Parganas, BJP President Nitin Naveen launched a scathing attack on Mamata Banerjee, stating that after May 4, TMC goons would be sent to jail and the BJP would form the government with a thumping majority. Similarly, in Purba Bardhaman, JP Nadda asserted during a roadshow that the people of Bengal would vote against Mamata Banerjee in the second phase as well. Senior BJP leaders continue to accuse the TMC government of patronizing criminals and running a 'syndicate raj'.

Abhishek Banerjee Alleges Secret Meeting

In response to the BJP's offensive, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee has once again alleged a nexus between the BJP and the Election Commission. Banerjee claimed that a secret meeting took place between an election official and a BJP candidate in a hotel room in Diamond Harbour. He further stated that the local police successfully exposed this clandestine meeting, highlighting what he termed as a conspiracy against the ruling party.

As the clock ticks towards the end of the campaign period, the political atmosphere in West Bengal remains highly charged, with both major blocs making their final appeals to the electorate across the 142 constituencies.
