Akali Dal's Lok Sabha candidate Hardeep Singh Butrela has resigned from the primary membership of the party. Akali Dal candidate Hardeep Singh, who is contesting the Lok Sabha elections, has resigned from the party and has also announced withdrawal of the ticket. At the same time, after this the entire team of Chandigarh Akali Dal has resigned from the party. Hardeep Singh alleged that no financial assistance was given by the party, due to which this decision had to be taken. Butrela said that Sukhbir is campaigning vigorously on 13 seats and has forgotten the 14th i.e. Chandigarh seat.

Earlier, Akali Dal used to fight with BJP in Chandigarh, but this time in the elections, Akali Dal decided to contest alone and under this, Hardeep Singh Butrela was fielded. Hardeep Singh was campaigning vigorously on this seat but suddenly today Hardeep Singh tendered his resignation and announced to return the ticket. Please note that Congress has fielded Manish Tiwari and BJP has fielded Sanjay Tandon on this seat. Now with Hardeep Singh leaving the field, the election will be between Congress and BJP.
