The BCCI has already announced the squad for the ODI series against Australia, entrusting Shubman Gill with the captaincy, while star players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are also integral members of the team.

A significant update has now emerged regarding Team India's departure for Australia. The Indian ODI squad will depart for Australia in two separate groups. According to a BCCI source who spoke to news agency PTI, the Indian ODI team will fly to Australia on October 15. The first group will leave on a morning flight, while the second group will depart in the evening, while this staggered departure is reportedly dependent on the availability of business class tickets for the long-haul flight. Also, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to arrive in Delhi one or two days before the team's departure to join their teammates.

Shubman Gill to Make ODI Captaincy Debut

When the squad for the Australia ODI series was announced, the selectors' decision to hand Shubman Gill the captaincy was made with an eye on the 2027 ODI World Cup. Consequently, all eyes will be on the performance of Team India's new ODI captain, Shubman Gill, in the upcoming three-match series.
