Security Alert in Bihar Bodh Gaya: The Bihar Police has detained the suspected woman (Chinese) for whom a threat alert was allegedly issued to Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. News agency ANI has given this information. ADG (Headquarters) JS Gangwar told that the woman has been detained from Bodh Gaya. His interrogation is on. Amidst the Dalai Lama's visit to Bodh Gaya, Bihar, the police, who were searching for a Chinese woman, had issued a security alert on Thursday morning. After this the security was increased. The Ministry of External Affairs refused to comment on the incident, terming it as a security-related issue.

When asked about this, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi had said that it seems to be a security issue. I don't know much about it. I don't think this is the right forum to talk about security related aspects. He had said that the liaison officer of the government is there but he cannot say anything on the issue related to security. He told that the police has released a 'sketch' of Song Xiaolan, a Chinese woman. The police had shared the details of the woman's passport and visa with the media. In view of the danger, security was increased around the Mahabodhi temple complex and devotees were also searched.

The Dalai Lama is on a stay in Bodh Gaya, Bihar for the last several days. The Buddhist religious leader has a three-day teaching (discourse) program from December 29 at the local Kalachakra Maidan. A large number of religious people from the country and abroad are expected to participate in this programme. The process of making people aware about this is going on to reach Bodh Gaya.
