Manipur Violence News: CBI has taken over Manipur Police's FIR in the case of women being paraded nude in Manipur. CBI has registered the case and started investigation. An FIR has been registered in this case under several sections including molestation. The sections which were in Manipur's FIR have been registered only. The CBI has taken this action on the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs. This FIR has been registered after the DoPT notification was issued.

In which sections FIR was registered

The CBI has registered the FIR under IPC sections 153A, 398, 427, 436, 448, 302, 354, 364, 326, 376, 34 IPC and 25 (1-C) A Act. Information was given by the state that 7 accused have been arrested in this case. CBI was already probing the cases of violence, in which many people were taken into custody. Now the CBI will investigate the matter of exploitation of women and will interrogate all the accused who have been caught in custody. In this the statements of the victim girls will be recorded and the crime scene will also be reviewed.

Please tell that after investigation the sections in the FIR may increase or decrease. Initially the police FIR has been taken over and registered and investigation has been started. This is a process of taking over the case.

  • 153-A: Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion/place of birth/language prejudicial to communal harmony
  • 398 : Attempt to commit dacoity with deadly weapon
  • 427 : Damage caused by mischief
  • 436 : Dealing with fire and explosives
  • 448 : Trespassing
  • 302 : Murder
  • 354 : Assault or use of criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty
  • 364 : Abduction
  • 326 : Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by a dangerous weapon
  • 376 : Sexual Harassment
  • 34: Common Intention
