Mumbai Fire / Central and Maharashtra government will give compensation for the families of the dead

A major accident (Mumbai Fire Today) has happened in Mumbai city of Maharashtra on Saturday morning. At least six people were killed and 23 injured after a massive fire broke out on the 18th floor of a multi-storey residential building in Taddev area here. The Central Government and the State Government have announced compensation for the next of kin of the deceased. The Prime Minister's (PM Narendra Modi) office has said in a tweet, 'The families of those who have lost their lives due to the fire in a building in Taddev, Mumbai, will be given a compensation of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF. Rs 50,000 will be given to the injured.

State government minister Aaditya Thackeray has also announced compensation for the dead by tweeting. He wrote in his tweet, 'I visited Kamala Building fire site in Tardeo to get information about the rescue operation at the ground level (Mumbai Fire). Also talked to the people there and assured them of all help in this sad time. Will give compensation of Rs.

Ongoing treatment of the injured- Thackeray

Aditya Thackeray wrote in his tweet, 'There are reports that two hospitals have refused to treat people. However, both the hospitals have informed me that they have admitted some people who were injured due to the fire and are being treated. A few hours earlier, in another tweet, Thackeray had said, I am in touch with the officials regarding the fire in Kamala Bhawan located in Taddev. Fire brigade and police are on the spot. Rescue and cooling operation is on.

A Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said the fire broke out around 7 am in the building 'Kamala' located opposite Gandhi Hospital in Gowalia Tank. He said, 'It is a 20-storey building. The fire started on its 18th floor. On receiving the information, fire brigade personnel and police reached the spot. 13 fire tenders and seven water tankers were pressed into service in the firefighting operation.

Rahul Gandhi expressed grief

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed grief over the incident. He said in a Facebook post, 'Sad news has been received of fire in a multi-storey building in Mumbai. My deepest condolences to the families of those killed in the incident. I wish the people injured in this incident a speedy recovery.' Rahul Gandhi said, 'I appeal to the Congress workers to provide all possible help.
