Zaheer Khan brings a diverse and rich coaching background to the Chennai Super Kings, while since retiring from professional cricket as a player in 2017, he has remained deeply involved in the sport through various strategic and coaching roles. During his active IPL career, he represented prominent teams such as Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Mumbai Indians, and Delhi Capitals. Following his retirement, he joined Mumbai Indians before the 2019 IPL season in the capacity of Director of Cricket Operations. His role later expanded as he took on the responsibility of Global Head of Development for the franchise. Most recently, Zaheer was associated with the Lucknow Super Giants, where he was appointed as the team mentor for the IPL 2025 season. However, he decided to part ways with the Lucknow franchise before the start of the next season to take up this prestigious role with CSK. On top of that, he has also been involved with the Vancouver Anchors team in Canada, further broadening his international coaching exposure.
