DF-5C Nuclear Missile / China displayed the dangerous DF-5C nuclear missile for the first time in the army parade

China displayed its deadliest DF-5C intercontinental nuclear missile for the first time on the 80th anniversary of victory over Japan in World War II. This missile with a range of more than 20,000 kilometers can reach any part. China also displayed many new missiles, tanks and drones in the parade.

DF-5C Nuclear Missile: China on Wednesday showcased its most advanced and dangerous intercontinental ballistic nuclear missile DF-5C for the first time in a grand military parade to mark the 80th anniversary of victory against Japan in World War II. According to the Global Times report, this liquid-fueled strategic missile is capable of targeting any part of the world with a range of more than 20,000 kilometers. Its defense penetration capability and accuracy make it one of the deadliest missiles in the world.

Weapons and systems displayed in the parade

Apart from the DF-5C, many new and advanced weapon systems were showcased in the parade, which reflect China's military strength and technological progress. These include:

DF-26D: Anti-ship ballistic missile with a range of 5,000 kilometers.

CJ-1000: Long-range hypersonic cruise missile.

HQ-29: Ballistic missile interceptor.

‘Carrier killer’ missiles: Capable of destroying naval targets.

Type 99B: New battle tank.

Vehicle-based laser defense weapons: Advanced defense systems.

Aircraft-based jet fighters: Four types of jets.

H-6J: Long-range bomber.

Airborne early warning aircraft and army/navy drones: Ability to strike deep into the sea.

Rocket launchers: Various types of advanced rocket systems.

DF-5C missile: One of the most dangerous missiles in the world

The DF-5C is a liquid-fueled intercontinental strategic nuclear missile, known for its ability to target any part of the world. According to Professor Yang Chengjun, a missile technology and nuclear disarmament expert, the DF-5C has integrated the technologies and experiences of China's previous DF series, especially the DF-5 and DF-41 missiles. This missile is not only technologically advanced but also strategically important, which strengthens China's nuclear deterrence policy.

Six key features of DF-5C

Professor Yang mentioned six distinctive features of DF-5C:

  • New structure: The missile is carried by three transport vehicles in three sections, reducing launch preparation time and increasing response speed.
  • Global range: With a range of more than 20,000 kilometers, it is capable of counterattacking any military target in the world.
  • Diverse launch methods: Based on the previous DF series, its launch process can have multiple options.
  • Fast flight speed: With a speed of several Machs, it challenges contemporary missile interception systems.
  • MIRV capability: It can carry multiple independently targetable warheads (MIRVs), which can be equipped with nuclear or conventional weapons or decoys, making interception more difficult.
  • High accuracy: With technologies such as inertial guidance system and starlight guidance system, it is highly accurate.

Symbol of China's nuclear strategy

According to Professor Yang, the display of DF-5C and other strategic weapons reflects China's defensive nuclear strategy. China aims to deter the use or threat of nuclear weapons and ensure national security. These missiles and other weapons are not only a display of military power, but also a means of contributing to global stability.
