ED had opposed the interim bail in the court, but the bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta gave this verdict in favor of Kejriwal and gave him interim relief. Earlier, Kejriwal's petition was heard in the Supreme Court on Tuesday (May 7) but the decision could not be taken that day. It was said from the ED side that the arguments are still pending and the entire side should be heard on interim bail. Actually, ED is continuously opposing the interim bail of Kejriwal. On Thursday, the investigating agency also filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court.

What in the ED affidavit?

The investigating agency (ED) filed this affidavit at a time when the Supreme Court will give its verdict in this case the next day i.e. on Friday. In this affidavit, CM Kejriwal's petition has been opposed. It says that the right to campaign is not a fundamental, constitutional or legal right. ED Deputy Director Bhanu Priya has filed this affidavit. Bhanu Priya has said that interim relief should not be given on the basis of election campaign. If this happens then it will become a new tradition, which is not right.

It was also said that in the last 5 years, a total of 123 elections have been held in the country. If leaders are given bail on the basis of campaigning in elections, then neither any leader will be arrested nor will he be sent to judicial custody. Earlier on May 3, a hearing on Kejriwal's interim bail was held in the Supreme Court for about two hours.
