CM Yogi Adityanath Departs for Singapore and Japan to Attract Investment

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is embarking on a four-day visit to Singapore and Japan starting Sunday. This marks his first foreign trip since 2017. The visit aims to position Uttar Pradesh as India's manufacturing hub and attract global investments across sectors like semiconductors and renewable energy.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to depart on Sunday for a four-day official visit to Singapore and Japan, while this marks the Chief Minister's first foreign tour since his visit to Myanmar in 2017. According to state government officials, the visit is a strategic move to establish Uttar Pradesh as a global manufacturing hub and is considered a significant step toward achieving the state's goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy. The delegation aims to showcase the industrial potential and policy stability of the state to international investors.

Investment Focus and Data Centers in Singapore

According to an official statement released by the state government, the Chief Minister will be in Singapore on February 23 and 24. During this period, he's slated to meet representatives from approximately 25 major companies. The discussions will primarily focus on data center infrastructure, the agro-industry, and logistics networks, while officials stated that meetings with global giants like Google and STT Global are planned to discuss data center development. On top of that, talks with the Japfa Group and Olam International will explore opportunities in the agriculture sector, while Mapletree and AI SATS will be engaged for logistics network expansion.

Automobile and Semiconductor Agenda in Japan

Following the Singapore leg, the Chief Minister will visit Japan on February 25 and 26. During his stay in Japan, he's expected to meet representatives from eight prominent companies. According to the statement, investment in the automobile sector will be a key agenda item in discussions with Kubota and Suzuki. To further the state's ambition of becoming a semiconductor hub, a meeting with Tokyo Electron is scheduled, while other discussions will include electronic manufacturing with Toshiba and automobile supply chain cooperation with Toyo Denso, Japan Aviation Electronics, and Nagase & Co. Green hydrogen projects with Kanadevia and real estate investments with Marubeni are also on the agenda.

G2B and Roundtable Meetings with Investors

A central feature of this visit is the series of Government-to-Business (G2B) and roundtable meetings. According to officials, the Chief Minister will directly interact with investors to present the industrial blueprint of Uttar Pradesh. These sessions are designed to provide clarity on policy stability and business prospects within the state. The objective is to facilitate result-oriented discussions that can accelerate investment proposals and clear the path for joint ventures. The government expects these interactions to Notably boost investor confidence in the 'New Uttar Pradesh' model.

Engagement with NRIs and the Student Community

Beyond business meetings, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's itinerary includes interactions with the Indian diaspora and students. He's scheduled to address Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) and people from Uttar Pradesh residing in Singapore and Japan. According to officials, the Chief Minister will also engage with students to apprise them of the ongoing developments and future opportunities in the state. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen 'Brand UP' on the global stage and involve the overseas community in the state's growth trajectory.

Strengthening 'Make in UP' and Renewable Energy

The four-day tour will also place a strong emphasis on renewable and solar energy investments. Discussions are planned with firms such as AVPN, GSC Greens, and EDPR Sunseap to explore collaborative projects. According to the government statement, the visit is intended to present a modern image of Uttar Pradesh as a state ready for industrial expansion and technological innovation. This diplomatic mission is viewed as a critical step in reinforcing the 'Make in UP' campaign globally and creating new avenues for employment and industrial growth within the state.
