This is the reason why zoo animals are enjoying seasonal fresh fruits along with playing in the water to avoid the heat wave and scorching heat. To provide relief to the animals from the scorching heat, fresh water in the enclosures along with coolers and fans have been arranged in their cages.

The heat of Delhi is making new records regarding mercury these days. Saturday itself has been the hottest recorded in the last 72 years within the first 15 days. To provide relief to the animals from the heat in the zoo, coolers and fans have been arranged in the enclosures. In addition, provision of fresh water has also been made.

Most of the animals spend most of their time in the water by playing giddy. At the same time, small fountains installed in the deer enclosure are bringing relief to the animals. Elephants are being bathed in the morning and evening to get relief from the heat.

Coolers have been installed in the cages of lion, leopard and tiger. Temporary thatch has been constructed for the animals roaming in the open, so that the wildlife can get shade. Along with this, small ponds have been constructed for their drinking water.

Seasonal fruits are being given

The diet of animals has been changed as the seasons change. According to a zoo official, the quantity of meat given to non-vegetarian animals has been reduced. Along with this, there has been an increase in other solids and beverages.

Watermelon, melon, cucumber and cucumber are being given to the animals. The official said that through seasonal fruits the animals would feel refreshed and they would also feel less of heat. Therefore, these fruits have been included in the food by the administration.

60 coolers will be installed in the coming days

In the coming time, 60 coolers will be installed in different wildlife enclosures in the zoo. For this, preparations are being made by the administration. An official says that at present there is such facility in the enclosure of lion, leopard, tiger and other meat-eating animals, but the way it is getting hot.

In view of this, the need has been felt to install coolers in other cages to give relief to the wildlife. Realizing this need, coolers will also be arranged in the cages of other animals.
