The newly formed BJP government in Goa has decided to provide three domestic LPG cylinders free of cost in a year. The decision was taken in the first meeting of the state cabinet chaired by CM Pramod Sawant on Monday. The BJP had made this promise in its manifesto for the Goa Assembly elections.

CM Sawant informed about this decision by tweeting. Besides Sawant, eight of his cabinet colleagues attended the cabinet meeting. Sawant said that three domestic LPG cylinders would be provided free of cost from the new financial year as promised by the BJP.

In the manifesto for the Goa assembly elections held last month, the BJP had promised that three LPG cylinders would be given free of cost every year if it came to power again. Sawant told reporters on Monday that restarting mining from iron ore mines and generating employment is the priority of his government.

Not an accident, I am elected CM: Sawant

Responding to the statement of his opponents that he is an accidental CM, Sawant said that this time he is the elected CM and not the elected chief minister. Sawant became the CM of Goa for the first time in 2019 after the death of the then CM Manohar Parrikar. In the recent elections, BJP has won again and he has got the CM post again. The BJP contested the elections under Sawant's leadership. The BJP has won 20 seats in the 40-member Goa Assembly. It has formed the government with the support of MGP and independent MLAs.
