Delhi Government Approves Lakshmi Yojana: Women To Receive 2500 Rupees Monthly

The Delhi government has officially sanctioned the Lakshmi Yojana, a significant initiative aimed at providing financial support to women across the national capital. The Chief Minister further detailed the implementation timeline, announcing that the official portal for the scheme will be launched on August 1. In a move to celebrate the bond of siblings, the government has decided to release the first installment of the scheme on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Eligibility Criteria for Beneficiaries

The Lakshmi Yojana is designed to benefit a specific demographic of women residing in Delhi. To be eligible for the monthly 2500 rupees assistance, an applicant must be a permanent resident of Delhi. A mandatory requirement is the possession of an Aadhaar card, which must be linked to the applicant's bank account to facilitate the DBT process. Also, the annual income of the woman's family must fall within the limits prescribed by the government. Applicants are also required to submit a self-declaration form confirming that they've been residents of Delhi for at least 10 years and that they don't have any criminal record.

Technological Framework and Registration Process

To ensure a smooth and transparent registration process, the Delhi government is developing a dedicated web portal, while chief Minister Rekha Gupta highlighted that the IT department is currently working on this portal along with specialized software. This software will be utilized for the rigorous verification of applications and the accurate identification of all eligible beneficiaries. The integration of technology is intended to make the registration process easy for the public while maintaining the integrity of the scheme. The government aims to reach every eligible woman in the city through this digital infrastructure, ensuring that the financial aid reaches those who truly qualify under the established guidelines.
