New Delhi: It is bone-chilling winter in Delhi. Lodhi Road in the capital recorded a minimum temperature of 2.8 degree Celsius on Thursday morning. Due to the tremendous cold wave, the coldest morning of the season was recorded on Thursday, the mercury dropped to three degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, today there is dense fog in entire North India including Delhi. Visibility reduced to 50 meters at 5:30 in the morning.

Delhi's Safdarjung Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of three degrees Celsius, while it was 4.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 8.5 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

The minimum temperature at Lodhi Road, Ayanagar and Ridge weather stations was recorded at 2.8°C, 2.2°C and 2.8°C respectively.

The Meteorological Department on Wednesday issued an 'Orange Alert' for Delhi-NCR (National Capital Region) for Thursday and Friday.
