Anil Gill News: The Central Government on Wednesday suspended Captain Anil Gill, Director of the Directorate of Aerosports in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). According to media reports, he is accused of taking three training aircraft as bribe from a flying training school. According to the report, Anil was accused of corruption a month ago, after which DGCA had formed a vigilance committee to investigate the matter. The Aviation Ministry has taken this decision after the preliminary investigation by the committee. The case is now being investigated by CBI and ED.

Before this post, Anil was the Director of Flying and Training Division of DGCA. He was recently made the Director of Directorate of Aerosports.

Used to ignore shortcomings of flying training school in exchange for bribe

According to some media reports, a whistleblower had sent a complaint to DGCA on October 25. In this, Anil is accused of taking training aircraft as bribe from Flying Training Organization (FTO).

According to the complaint, Anil used to take training aircraft for companies related to his family at nominal prices. Then these planes were given on rent to some other FTOs. In exchange for this bribe, Anil used to ignore the shortcomings of these FTOs during audit, which also included security related shortcomings.

Anil denied all the allegations

It has also been told in the complaint that the FTOs who were not able to pay bribe for the aircraft to Anil, used to sell their training aircraft to the companies associated with them at nominal prices. Anil's mother, his brother's wife, aunt, a cousin and his brother-in-law are directors among the companies to which FTO sold aircraft.

However Anil has denied all these allegations. He says that all these allegations are wrong.

There was an allegation of taking bribe in 2021 also

Even in 2021, Anil was accused of taking aircraft as bribe. At that time he was the Chief Vigilance Officer of DGCA. However, nothing special was found in the investigation conducted at that time.
