The Council mentioned that the Pakistani Army Chief was present in Tehran, acting as a mediator in the ongoing discussions. Despite the mediation, Iran emphasized that its position remains unwavering. The Iranian leadership stated that its negotiation team won't make even a slight compromise, won't retreat, and won't show any leniency; instead, it will protect the interests of the Iranian nation with full strength.

The escalating tension over the Hormuz Strait has drawn international reactions, including from Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, while speaking at the Progressive Leaders Summit in Barcelona, Lula criticized the nature of Trump's comments. He stated that the world can't live every day with threatening remarks from a president. Lula also appealed to the permanent members of the UN Security Council to change their stance to halt the ongoing tense conflict in the Middle East.
