October 26 marks 'Kharna,' a day of fasting where jaggery kheer is consumed, while on October 27, the evening 'Arghya' will be offered to the setting sun. The festival concludes on October 28 with the morning 'Arghya' to the rising sun, followed by the breaking of the fast.

What to Do During Chhath Puja:

* Vrati women should apply orange sindoor. * Take a holy bath before 'Nahay-Khay' and ensure your home and puja area are clean. * Listen to or read the Chhath Vrat Katha at night. * Consume only light, pure, homemade food. * Offer Prasad first to Lord Surya and Chhathi Maiya. * Eat Thekua and other Prasad only after offering Arghya to the rising sun. * Avoid lies, malice, and anger.

What Not to Do During Chhath Puja:

* Don't consume Tamasic food such as garlic, onion, meat, fish, alcohol, or tobacco. * Avoid eating outside fried or spicy food. * Don't perform puja without bathing. * Don't eat anything before consuming Prasad. * Don't use old or torn baskets for offerings.
