Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee President Govind Singh Dotasra visited Jhunjhunu on Saturday, where he addressed the media regarding the current political landscape in the state. During his interaction, Dotasra launched a sharp attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), highlighting internal friction and governance issues, while he specifically mentioned former Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore while questioning the state government's ability to manage administrative and developmental tasks effectively.
Remarks on Rajendra Rathore and Political Appointments
Govind Singh Dotasra took a swipe at senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore, stating that prominent leaders within the party are still waiting for their political appointment 'slips' from the high command. He questioned the government's efficiency, noting that even after a significant period, the administration has failed to provide appointments to its own workers. According to Dotasra, this delay reflects a lack of coordination within the ruling party, which he claimed would ultimately hinder the state's progress.
Allegations of Administrative Failure and MLA Powerlessness
Criticizing the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Dotasra claimed that the current administration has proven to be ineffective. He alleged that even elected BJP MLAs lack the authority to influence minor administrative decisions, such as the transfer of junior staff or teachers. Dotasra further stated that the government is avoiding local body and panchayat elections due to a fear of public backlash and the potential exposure of its governance failures.
Critique of the Yamuna Water Agreement and DPR
Addressing the critical issue of Yamuna water for the Shekhawati region, Dotasra accused the government of focusing more on publicity than actual progress. He pointed out that despite multiple events and large-scale hoarding campaigns, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) has not been finalized in over two years. Referring to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), he noted that Rajasthan would only receive water during 'over-flood' conditions after Haryana utilizes 2400 cusecs. He described the ₹3200 crore budget allocation for this project as insufficient.
Disparities in Budget Allocation and Infrastructure
The PCC President highlighted what he termed as regional disparities in the state budget. Citing examples from Sikar and Laxmangarh, Dotasra mentioned that even the constituencies of cabinet ministers, such as Jhabar Singh Kharra, received minimal infrastructure projects. He noted that in his own constituency of Laxmangarh, only minor road projects were proposed by BJP leaders. Dotasra argued that if ministerial regions are receiving such limited resources, the developmental status of other areas remains a matter of concern.
