The UAE has been fighting in Yemen since the beginning of 2015. The UAE was a key member of the Saudi-led coalition that launched an attack against the Iran-backed Houthiites after the international-backed government was ousted from power in Yemen. The UAE has reduced its troops in Yemen, but is actively involved in the conflict and supports major militias fighting the Houthiites.
