The accident involved a family from the Jalalabad area who were traveling with their relatives in a Mahindra Pickup. According to reports, there were approximately 25 to 28 people on board the vehicle at the time of the crash. The family was mourning the recent passing of an elderly woman and was on their way to perform a religious ritual of immersing her ashes as per traditional customs, while the journey turned into a tragedy near the Janga Wale Mor, close to Hussainshah Wala village, where their vehicle met with the ill-fated trailer.

Eyewitnesses at the scene described the collision as horrific, stating that the Mahindra Pickup was completely mangled under the force of the impact. Many passengers were trapped inside the twisted metal of the vehicle, while local residents were the first to respond, initiating immediate relief and rescue operations while alerting the local police. Initial reports from the site suggested that 4 people had died on the spot, including 3 men and 1 woman. However, as the rescue progressed and more victims were attended to, the death toll tragically rose to 9.
