Israel-Iran News: The Middle East is once again on the brink of a fierce war. The situation between Iran and Israel is continuously deteriorating after 'Operation Rising Lion' which began on the night of June 13. On Saturday night, both the countries retaliated against each other, taking the tension to a new peak.

Late Saturday night, the Israeli Air Force carried out heavy attacks on many important places including Iran's capital Tehran. In these attacks, Iran's Defense Ministry, Nuclear Laboratory, Nuclear Headquarters and two oil refineries were targeted. In the pictures that surfaced, huge fires and massive destruction were seen after the blasts.

In response to the Israeli attacks, Iran also retaliated and rained missiles on many cities of Israel including Haifa. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed that it targeted Israel's energy infrastructure. According to the Israeli Emergency Service, at least three people have died in northern Israel.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear on Saturday that, "We will destroy every military, nuclear and strategic target of the Ayatollah regime." His statement came after Israeli military officials and scientists were killed in an Iranian attack on Friday.

Israel also said that it considers Iran's nuclear program an "existential threat" and wants to completely eliminate it.

Nuclear talks canceled, diplomacy stalled

Diplomatic efforts have also suffered a major setback amid the deadly attacks. Iran has canceled the ongoing nuclear talks with the US with immediate effect. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, "It is no longer possible to hold talks after Israel's attacks."

IDF's claim and next warning

The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) confirmed that its fighter jets attacked targets related to the nuclear weapons project in Tehran. This included the SPND headquarters, Defense Ministry centers and other secret locations, where according to Israel Iran was carrying out the nuclear project.

"Tehran is burning," Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz wrote on social media. Iranian state TV reported multiple explosions in the city's east and west.

What's next?

These latest developments signal that the confrontation could escalate from limited military action to a full-blown war. Regional and global powers are concerned, but diplomacy has been relegated to the background for the time being.
