Due to the heat of Vaishakh and Jyeshtha month, water will flow from earthen pots on Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga. As soon as the Vaishakh month begins on Sunday, an earthen pot (kalash) has been tied, which will remain for two months. From this, a stream of cold water will flow on Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga daily from 6 am to 4 pm.

Actually, according to the tradition of the temple, Galantika is tied for two months from Vaishakh Krishna Pratipada to the full moon of Jyeshtha month. According to the priests, there is extreme heat in Vaishakh and Jyeshtha month. To provide coolness to Lord Mahakal in the scorching heat, water is flowed from the earthen pots. Galantika will be tied every day from 6 am to 4 pm for two months. According to the priest Pradeep Guru, Lord Shiva drank Garal (poison) during the churning of the ocean. According to religious belief, the Jalabhishek of Shiva is done only for the purpose of garal fire. The heat (heat) of the poison increases even more during the summer. Therefore, in the month of Vaishakh and Jyeshtha, a water stream of cold water is flowed from the earthen pot to provide coolness to the Lord.

Tying an earthen urn on the head of the Lord is called Galantika. According to the tradition of Mahakal temple, Galantika is tied for two months from 6 am to 4 pm from Vaishakh Krishna Pratipada to Jyeshtha Purnima. There are 11 earthen pots in it. Similarly, Galantika will be tied to Vaishakh Krishna Pratipada in Mangalnath and Angareshwar Mahadev temples. Bhumiputra Mangal is called Angarkaya, that is, Mahamangal is considered to have a body similar to the ember. Due to the hot nature of Mars, water will be offered from an earthen pot to provide coolness to Angarak Dev during the summer days.
