Bharat Ratna: The Central Government has recently announced the country's highest honor to 5 personalities. Since then, Bharat Ratna has remained a topic of discussion in the country. Some people are welcoming this decision while some are raising questions on it. Today, former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also targeted the Center regarding this. Ashok Gehlot wrote on his Twitter handle that he welcomes the award of Bharat Ratna to 5 personalities by the Government of India. We have immense respect for these personalities and their contribution to the country is incomparable.

"The dignity of honor was diminished by breaking the rules"

Ashok Gehlot further wrote that however, it seems that by breaking the rule of giving maximum 3 Bharat Ratnas in a year, this honor has been electoralized and politicized by giving Bharat Ratna in a hurry and the dignity of the honor has been reduced. I do not think that NDA will get much benefit from these decisions.

"These honors are only for electoral gains"

Gehlot further said, "If the NDA government really wants to honor their contribution, then to carry forward the efforts made by Karpoori Thakur for the upliftment of the backward classes, a caste census should be conducted, at least as per the demand of Chaudhary Charan Singh and MS Swaminathan. Make a law on support price and ensure compliance with the Place of Worship Act made by PV Narasimha Rao, which is being disregarded everyday and try to normalize the atmosphere of apprehension like undeclared emergency expressed by LK Advani during the NDA government. Otherwise everyone will believe that these honors are only for electoral gains."
