Gulab Chand Kataria: Today, state pals have been appointed for 13 states of the country. Out of which Gulabchand Kataria, veteran leader of Rajasthan BJP and Leader of the Opposition, has been appointed as the Governor of Assam. At the same time, Lieutenant General Kaivalya Trivikram Parnaik has been appointed as the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Laxman Prasad Acharya as the Governor of Sikkim, CP Radhakrishnan as the Governor of Jharkhand, Gulab Chand Kataria as the Governor of Assam and Shiv Pratap Shukla as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.

Gulab Chand Kataria

Gulab Chand Kataria (born 13 October 1944) is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been the Home Minister in the Government of Rajasthan from 2014 to 2018. He is a senior BJP leader in Rajasthan and also a member of the party's Central Working Committee. He is from Udaipur and has represented it in the 9th Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India.

The CBI had registered a case against him in the Sheikh fake encounter case. He is the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. In 1977, Gulab Chand Kataria first filed nomination for the 6th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from Udaipur constituency and won. From here on he has been winning continuously. Gulab Chand became a member of the Legislative Assembly for the second time after winning the elections to the 7th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly in 1980. Meanwhile, he was also a member of the Estimates Committee of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly from 1980-1981. While being an MLA from 1981-1985, he was also a member of the Estimates Committee (A) in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Gulab Chand's political life has been very progressive.
