Enforcement Directorate has arrested IAS Pooja Singhal from Ranchi, Jharkhand. During the recent raid, crores of rupees were recovered from the house of IAS Pooja Singhal. IAS Pooja Singhal was not able to give its account, after which the ED has taken this action against her. Earlier, the ED had arrested her husband's CA Suman Kumar.
Know that the ED recently conducted raids in many states including Jharkhand in the MGNREGA case. In this case, the house of Jharkhand's senior IAS Pooja Singhal was also raided. Pooja Singhal is currently posted as Mining Secretary in the Government of Jharkhand.
Significantly, this case is related to 16 cases registered in Jharkhand in the year 2020, on which the ED later registered a case of money laundering. Junior Engineer Ram Vinod Prasad Sinha was arrested in this case.
It is alleged that Ram Vinod Prasad Sinha had cheated 18 crores from the government fund of MGNREGA, when he was posted in Khunti district of Jharkhand. At the same time, Pooja Singhal was also the District Magistrate there. Jharkhand Police started its investigation by registering 16 FIRs in this case and arrested Ram Vinod Prasad Sinha.
Let us inform that Jharkhand Police has also filed a charge sheet in this case. On the basis of these registered cases, the ED had registered a case of money laundering, in which the ED also attached assets of about 4.25 crores of Ram Vinod Prasad Sinha.
