Haryana government's big decision / In private schools, 25% seats up to nursery and class I will be reserved for poor children

Haryana Government has geared up to provide free admission to eligible children in private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. In the academic year 2022-23, there will be 25 percent reserved seats in the first and earlier classes in the private recognized schools of the state for children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, disabled children and children from families with an income of less than 1.80 lakh.

Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar said that the government has taken this decision with a view to ensure compliance of the provisions of section 12 (1) (c) of the Right to Education Act, 2009. Chief Minister Manohar Lal has given his approval to this decision.

The Education Minister said that it will be mandatory for private recognized schools to put the information about the availability of seats on their school's website by April 15. Apart from this, also have to be displayed on the notice board of the school. Private schools will also have to send the list of such reserved seats to the District Elementary Education Officer of their respective districts. Schools will have to give this information on the MIS portal haryanahryedumis.gov.in, the overview of which can also be obtained through the link on the department's website http://harprathmik.gov.in.

You can apply from April 16

The Education Minister said that the date for applying in private recognized schools by the children of economically weaker sections would be from April 16 to 25. The lottery draw will take place on April 29. The last date for admission of children is May 5 and if the children do not take admission, the date of admission of children from the waiting list on reserved vacant seats is from May 10 to May 14.
