India In UNHRC: India has given a befitting reply to Pakistan in the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) meeting. India said that Pakistan, which shelters the most UN-listed terrorists and runs terror factories, is a hoax to express concern about the human rights of the Indian people. Pakistan has been promoting terrorism. In such a situation, it is better that the Human Rights Council should use its powers and stop the encouragement of terrorism by Pakistan.

First Secretary of India's Permanent Mission Pawan Kumar Badhe said that India is exercising its right of reply in response to the statement made by Pakistan. Pakistan has once again misused the platform offered by this prestigious council to promote propaganda against India. My delegation rejects their baseless statements, they do not deserve our response.

OIC fails to stop Pakistan

He said that we reject the factually incorrect and inappropriate references to India in the OIC statement. We regret that the OIC countries, with whom we share close ties, have failed to prevent Pakistan from misusing the OIC platform to promote anti-India propaganda. He said that in keeping with its own top leadership, Pakistan has in the past openly admitted to forming terrorist groups and training them to fight in Afghanistan and the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

Council asks to take credible steps

He said that talking about the human rights of the people of India by Pakistan is itself frightening. It is well documented that the largest number of internationally banned terrorists are operating on Pakistani soil. Pakistan has been responsible for violating the human rights of its people and endangering peace and security not only in my country but in the entire region. We urge the Council and its mechanisms to ask Pakistan to take credible steps to end its state-sponsored terrorism and to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure in the areas under its control.

poor record of pakistan in protecting human rights

The First Secretary of India's Permanent Mission said that Pakistan has a poor record in promoting and protecting the human rights of its people. East Pakistan and what is now Bangladesh has a shameful history of committing genocide 50 years ago and this need not be repeated. Pakistan has the worst record in ensuring the right to freedom of religion for its minorities. Blasphemy, rape, kidnapping, forced conversion, forced marriage of minor girls and attacks on places of worship is a sad reality for Pakistan's Hazara, Shia, Ahmadiyya, Hindu, Sikh and Christian communities.

First fix your home Pakistan

He said discriminatory laws have ensured an environment of religious fanaticism in which the persecution of minorities continues unabated. It is high time the Council and its machinery hold Pakistan accountable for its institutionalized persecution and discrimination against its religious and ethnic minorities. People in areas like Balochistan have faced political repression and persecution for decades. That's why Pakistan is advised to fix its house before pointing fingers at others. The Council would have benefited if Pakistan had addressed the deteriorating human rights situation within Pakistan in its statement.
