Flight tickets are available for up to Rs 45,000

In view of the India-Pakistan match, the team, VVI, sponsors and cricket fans are all making reservations related to hotels and travel. According to a TOI report, flight tickets from major cities of the country to Ahmedabad have become costlier by up to 350 per cent.

The World Cup match is to be played between India and Pakistan on October 15.

A round trip non stop flight from Chennai to Ahmedabad can currently cost you Rs 40,000 to 45,000 for a date around October 15, while 3 months advance booking is going on. In normal days, the cost of this trip is between 10 to 15 thousand rupees.

Going from Mumbai-Delhi-Chandigarh to Ahmedabad is expensive

Not only Chennai… A trip from Mumbai to Ahmedabad, which used to cost Rs 6-7 thousand, is now costing more than Rs 21,000. The ticket for the trip from Delhi has also reached 25,000, so the journey from Chandigarh which used to cost Rs 10,000 is now being done for Rs 24,000.

Not only this, flight tickets for Ahmedabad are also available from Hyderabad, Kolkata and Bangalore at an expensive price. The round trip cost of Kolkata-Ahmedabad has reached Rs 45,000. If tickets are booked three months in advance, then the fare for all flights is much less.

More demand for tickets on match days

Virendra Shah, chairman of Travel Agents of India, says that there is a lot of demand for flight tickets during match days. Because of this, the prices of domestic flights to Ahmedabad are touching the sky.

Apart from the India-Pakistan match, the opening and final matches of the World Cup are also to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The ICC Cricket World Cup is to be held from October 5 to November 19 this year.
