New Delhi : Indian Railways is the most on target of miscreants opposing the Agneepath scheme of the Central Government. After the launch of the scheme, till now train bogies have been set ablaze in different states of the country, while counters and tracks have also been vandalised.

Due to this the railways had to cancel many trains. Passengers are upset due to the cancellation of trains, while there are also concerns about the ticket money i.e. refund. However, let us tell you what is the mode of ticket refund after the cancellation of the train.

On Online Ticket Booking: If you have booked train ticket online then no need to worry much for refund. According to railway rules, in case of cancellation of the train, the online ticket is canceled automatically and the refund money will be sent to your bank account.

Over the counter ticket booking: If you have booked over the counter ticket, then for this you have to go to the nearest counter and submit the form. However, one can also cancel the counter ticket by calling the helpline number 139 or by visiting the IRCTC website, but one has to visit the counter to collect the refund money.

Let us also tell you here that it is necessary to register the mobile number in the form while taking counter ticket, because at the time of cancellation OTP is sent on the same registered number.

Delay of more than 3 hours: If the train is late by more than 3 hours and the passenger does not travel, then you can get the refund by submitting the Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). This process will have to be completed over the counter apart from on the IRCTC website or app.
