Delhi Liquor Scam: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is afraid of arrest in the money laundering case related to liquor scam. For this he has approached Delhi High Court. By filing a petition in the High Court, he has demanded from the court that ED should not take strict action against him. Meaning, instructions have been sought to ensure that ED does not arrest him. In the petition on behalf of Arvind Kejriwal, it has been said that he is ready to cooperate in the investigation and inquiry, but ED should not take strict action.

A hearing regarding this will be held today in the court of Justice Suresh Kait of Delhi High Court. Let us tell you that ED has so far sent 9 summons to Arvind Kejriwal in the excise case. ED has sent the 9th summons to Arvind Kejriwal for questioning on March 21. Earlier, the Chief Minister of Delhi had challenged all the summons of ED in Delhi High Court. But on Wednesday, Arvind Kejriwal did not get immediate relief from the court. Delhi High Court, while seeking reply from ED, had directed to file the reply within 2 weeks. The court will hear the next case in that case on April 22.

What happened in Delhi High Court yesterday?

Kejriwal has challenged the ED summons in the High Court, calling them illegal. Kejriwal's petition was heard in the court on Wednesday. During the hearing, Delhi High Court asked Kejriwal's lawyer why Kejriwal is not appearing before the ED? Who is stopping them from not attending the call? On this, Kejriwal's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi told the court, Arvind Kejriwal is ready to face the ED but he fears that the ED will arrest him. If given security, he will appear.

Kejriwal will not appear before ED even today

ED has called Kejriwal for questioning today in the Delhi Excise Policy case. But even today he will not appear before the investigating agency. On ED's summons, Singhvi had said in Delhi High Court on Wednesday that Kejriwal has no problem in appearing before ED but he should guarantee that arrest will not be made. During the hearing, the court asked whether Kejriwal would appear before the ED tomorrow. On this, Kejriwal's lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi said "no".
